Here’s how we set up for a “pot pour” and a “screen melt”. We use flower pot saucers on the bottom covered with high fire shelf wash. Then we place across the saucers 12” kiln posts that the flower pots or screens set on. The flower pots need the hole in the bottom enlarged to about twice its original size. Then just fill the pot with your scraps of glass or stack the glass on the screen and then fire the kiln. Our firing schedule is 1000 degrees to 1700 F and hold for 45 minutes, full down to 1500 F hold for 1:45 minutes, then full to 960 F hold for 1 hour, then 200 to 750 F and finally 300 to 300F |
